University Coaches
K-Zone time has been secured for your pitchers at
Winthrop for each attending school. Lunch will also be
provided each day for all College Coaches.
Team Booklets will given to
each attending school.
Being this is my first time inviting you to one of my events, I am
wide open to your suggestions to make things as easy as I can for
you.

1st Annual Adopt a Team - College Coach Invitational
Girls Fastpitch Tournament

Winthrop Parking Update!
The normal softball parking lot will be closed until about 10:30 or
so on Saturday to allow the
Cross Country Team to come through during their meet.
Please use the parking lot just past the fields on the left.
Handicap Transportation will be provide, please call
803-323-2129 ext 6239 and leave a message. We will get
right back to you!
Bonus Ball! Just for fun we
will be putting a Bright Neon Red ball into play on one of the
fields. The first player to get a ligament hit can claim a prize.
Then the ball leaves that field, and goes to the next field on the
right. The ball may be used until either a hit occurs, or the ball
is fouled back off of the field. In the event of a foul ball the
ball goes to the next field on the right. We will be placing the
ball in and out of play throughout the day.
The ball is a
legal ball so no worries there. Pretty simple right? right first
time the ball gets fouled out of play a parent will run over and
throw it back onto the same field. If that happens just give it to
the ump. We will be monitoring that so as not to disrupt the games.
4 to 5 pool games.
First team listed is the home team.
Tie Breakers are - Head to Head, fewest runs allowed, most runs
scored up to 8.
Flip a Coin if all fields are tied.
What is Adopt a Team?
During this event we will have one Winthrop Lady Eagle Player to
assist your coaches during a game.
She will remain in the dugout and help you compete against the team
that you are playing. No she cannot
play 2nd for you, No
she cannot bat cleanup for you. She can help coach a base, run the
dugout, the sky
is the limit for you coaches.
You
would be silly to have them as Cheer Leaders. So don’t blow it!
Not only will your team have a College Player in the dugout, so will
the team that you are competing
against.
Trust me coaches, these girls don’t even like losing a coin toss.
What
does College Coach Invitational mean?
This means that we will be inviting several schools from all levels
of Colleges to
send coaches to scout our older teams. The older teams will play
pool games where the stakes are
high but the score does not count.
Each team will get 4 games.
We will be listing the schools in attendance as we get written
confirmation. We do have some schools
already giving us a verbal
commitment or we wouldn’t put this on. Coaches don’t leave this up
to
chance, get your players to email their prospective college
coaches as well, to let them know that
you will be in Rock Hill for
this weekend.
Now
for the really good news, we are putting this on for the price of a
regular event!
All 16’s and 18’s will pay just $260 for a four game guarantee.
All 12’s and 14’s will pay $250 for a 4 game guarantee.
All 10's and under will pay $200 for a 3 game guarantee with MC
discount
All 8 and under will pay $175 for a 3 game guarantee.
Coaches this tournament is limited to just 75 teams with only so
many in each age group.
I would really encourage you to register and prepay well in
advance.
I also suggest that you do the following well before this event.

Get your girls to email her potential coaches

Provide these coaches with times as to when you play and
where.

Provide them with when in the game you will be playing.
Their time is just as important
as yours. Let them know when your players are scheduled to play
in specific games if
you can. Provide them with profiles, video, whatever you
can before the event.

Travel Coaches
A University Tent will be
provided for dropping off player and or team info for you coaches.
We will also have a tent setup for recruitment questions and
consulting. Ex professional and College Coach Willie Rucker
will be available for this event.
