Xeno 2016 July 1 - 3
Burlington NC

What is the Xeno?  It starts with a camp instructed by college coaches. After the camp all girls play at least 5 games between Friday July 1 and Sunday July 3, 2016.

How are Xeno teams formed?  Each team will have 3 pitchers, 2 catchers and 1 position player for the remaining 7 positions. Teams are formed based on the information we get off of applications.

Why the Xeno?  I myself, Howard Edwards - NC NSA, along with Debbie Taylor - former college athlete and volunteer assistant college coach, formed the Xeno to give the girls an opportunity to play in a tournament somewhat similar to the Queen of Diamonds that has been going on for 20 years. I want to provide something different and unique for the NC NSA Program. We also want to provide the older girls an opportunity to be seen by college coaches in an atmosphere that is much different than playing on a travel showcase team.

Who coaches Xeno teams?  The Xeno is coached by former and current college players from the area. We have used girls from Elon, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Pembroke, Guilford, Queens, Presbyterian, Winthrop, Methodist, Liberty and Campbell in past years. These college players will select MVP's for every games which girls will receive a T-shirt and also select all tournament team at the end of the tournament. All game MVP's and all tournament will get a letter along with a certificate sent to them after the tournament.
